Still, they can be useful presentational tools which is why Sidelined features two of the top sliders available – jQuery Cycle and Nivo. You can use them on any page (including the sidebar), have more than one (even mix and match the two types) and set them to any available width. And of course you have full access to the 40+ different effects available.

This isn’t just for static content – you can even do this for the blog pages.


Of course, this would be for nought if Sidelined didn’t provide you with a host of sidebar functionality. We’ve provided multiple widget containers for you to add your widgets to (not forgetting our custom AJAX contact form and Twitter widgets which you could equally load into the footer instead). And the image sliders, galleries and a secondary WordPress 3 menu can also go into the sidebar.

Congratulations – now you can format your content into columns for something a bit different.

Something as apparently simple as formatting content into columns can easily lead to some pretty dark places. Not so with Sidelined, which uses the 960 grid system to great effect and gives you the shortcodes you need to create columns (examples of which you’ll see throughout the site).
There’s also an example over on the shortcode page which shows some shortcodes you can use. As well as using this feature for formatting your own content, you can also use it when including blog posts and galleries too.
